Travel + Leisure: Transforming an Acquisition into a Premium Lifestyle Ecosystem
Wyndham Destinations acquired Travel + Leisure magazine during the pandemic. It was an ambitious move, and given the disruptions in the travel industry, a bold one. But Wyndham wanted to diversify beyond timeshares, and the trust associated with Travel + Leisure among premium customers spelled pure opportunity.
DeSantis Breindel joined the team to shape a new brand story and comprehensive brand strategy—one that could reintroduce the combined companies to the world with a new vision for leisure travel. After a portfolio strategy exercise, brand architecture work, and development of both a completely modernized visual identity and reimagined customer journey, the business rebranded as Travel + Leisure Co.
Today, Travel + Leisure serves travelers not as a magazine but a full-service lifestyle resource. It combines the best of Wyndham’s membership clubs and premium experiences with the former magazine’s journalistic perspective and authority. Visitors explore destinations and book their adventures through one integrated e-commerce platform.
